Moving from 170 m2 to 500 m2

It’s not easy moving houses when you are a family of 4 with 2 young children, let alone moving to a new country during a pandemic! With so many things to take care of during their move, finding a house and creating a home was essential to make sure the family rooted quickly.

The family quickly found an amazing house in Kemang, but there was one major drawback: Their old house was 170m2, their new house was 2.5 times that size at 500m2! 

​

Despite bringing most of their furniture from The Netherlands, the house was bound to feel empty and definitely not like home yet. On top of that, does it really feel like a new home when you only have furniture from your old house?

The clients wanted to keep using their current furniture and wanted to create a new ambiance and feel like they have started a new phase in their lives, lemon.aid helped redesign the space by incorporating the clients’ current modern furniture and mixing it with local designs to create unique, exciting, but comforting, and relaxing rooms. The warm wooden furniture complemented their modern style furniture and added an extra flair to really create a new home.

The spaces evoke familiarity while still producing the sense of excitement of moving to a new country. Creating the perfect space for this family to start their Indonesian adventure.
